Lodawg's Kitchen: An Introduction
Ever since I was a kid, I've always enjoyed food. My parents and grandma (aka 'Grandmere Gateau': translating to "cake grandma") instilled a love of it in me, by showing me new food or getting me involved in the kitchen.
Nowadays, food seems to be so stressful.
We have to get up early, lest we suffer a 45 minute wait for Sunday brunch at a cafe with the weirdest coloured latte. Reality TV shows make cooking competitive and adversarial, instead of inclusive and welcoming. Burgers are more about how stupid the ingredients are than the actual flavour.
Cooking at home is viewed as a chore, and we choose to eat microwaved, machine-made crap instead of putting together a simple meal with love. We sit in front of the TV, or on our phones, instead of sitting in front of our loved ones.
The love is gone. What happened?
Lodawg's Kitchen is here to find out, and share it with you, one plate at a time.
